Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep
Thank you Mark for sharing your talent at such a critical time in my sister’s life!! As a fellow photographer I was devastated that I could not be there to photograph her infant son who had just passed away! I wanted her to have some memories of him, but based on our great distance between us, was unable to travel there to photograph him before his funeral. It was such a huge relief when I found your name in her area on the NILMDTS website. What brought more comfort was calling you first thing in the morning and you answering your phone and immediately responding with compassion for the difficult nature of the situation. I was immensely grateful that you would take time during your Jewish holiday, with only a day’s notice, to accomplish this very sad and difficult task!! It was so great to be in my profession of photography, but to also be on the receiving end of the wonderful NILMDTS program! Thank you for your willingness to serve in this capacity. I know you had just recently signed on with them and I really feel it was inspired to have you join the organization, so that we could benefit from your participation! I know this was a very difficult shoot with high emotion, as I understand from my mom and my sister; you not only handled it with great professionalism, but with compassion and comfort being a father yourself! I was able to take the images and compile some of them along with special quotes, into a book that she can look back at and reflect on the special son that she lost. You have also inspired me to sign up for the non profit organization NILMDTS here in Phoenix. I hope I may also be able to serve and help another family here as you helped my family there. Thank you again, on behalf of my grieving sister and all of our family!
